This archival maxi dress originates from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2001 Ready-to-Wear era, showcasing Gaultier’s unmistakable approach to provocative, body-conscious design. The dress features an intricately constructed burgundy fishnet bodice, designed to wrap and contour the body with an off-the-shoulder neckline, before falling into a fluid floor-length printed skirt in earthy shades of olive, burgundy and rust.
The striking open-knit construction creates Gaultier’s signature illusion of dressing and undressing the body, balancing exposed skin with a beautifully draped silhouette.
